Shock Wave

Similar to laser therapy, however shock wave therapy uses high-energy sound waves to treat chronic pain, lameness, skin infections, and injuries like fractures. It is non-invasive and the sound pulses travel through the soft tissue reaching deeper areas than laser therapy. Since this is more intense than laser therapy there are usually less sessions needed. Usually, 1-3 sessions are needed at the beginning of treatment depending on the disease and they would be scheduled 2 weeks apart. After that for chronic conditions like arthritis they would need another treatment 6-12 months after that. Unlike laser it cannot be used around the head and face.
